The eight-targeted fields (Medical Assistant, Medical Billing and Coding, Nursing Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, Practical Nurse, Associate Degree in Nursing and Associate degree in Business Administration and Management) have been developed to prepare learners for a diverse competitive workforce in the Upper Rio Grande region and Southern New Mexico areas with high levels of educational excellence.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Program Description:
This program is designed to prepare graduates to gain skills in the areas of administrative clinical and laboratory procedures. Graduates learn to communicate and interact effectively with patients, and perform or assist in medical procedures. In addition they learn to perform CPR, take vital signs, basic nutrition and meal planning, and infection control measures. Students also learn phlebotomy, injections/medication administration, EKG’s, urinalysis, basic hematology.

MEDICAL BILLING AND CODING

Program Description:
This program is designed to teach graduates concepts and skills needed to provide accurate medical billing in a medical office, medical billing facility, or laboratory. Emphasis is placed on the skills needed to take the Certified Professional Coding (CPC) Examination. Graduates learn to assign codes to diagnoses and procedures in order to insure proper disbursement from insurance companies and government agencies. Additionally they will be able to use a universally recognized coding system and insure correct codes in compliance with federal regulations and insurance requirements. Graduates also learn industry standard software needed to perform coding tasks

NURSING ASSISTANT
120 clock hrs/3.5 Semester credit hours

Program Description: This program prepares individual with the skills needed to provide basic patient care at a health care facility or at the patient's home. Emphasis is placed on skills required to pass the State Certification as a Nurse's Assistant and secures a spot on the State Nurse Aide Registry. Graduates learn to assist patients in attaining and maintaining maximum functional independence, while observing their rights. Students will also learn to perform basic first aid, CPR, vital signs, apply basic elements of nutrition and meal planning, and follow infection control measures. They will learn to apply proper body mechanics, bed making, lifting, and turning patients.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Program Description:
This program is designed to develop competence in word processing and data processing, communication skills, bookkeeping procedures such as inventories, long-term assets, and current liabilities, statements of cash flow and financial statement analysis, and operations necessary for entry-level employment in today’s automated office. Students will develop skills such as keyboarding and operating software applications such as Windows, Word, Excel, Access, as well as exploring the Internet.

PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN

Program Description:
This program gives graduates the skills necessary to secure employment at a physician’s office, clinic, or laboratory operated outpatient service center. Phlebotomy is an invasive procedure that requires knowledge of vital functions and the ability to provide the most accurate and risk-free technique used in the collection of blood samples. Upon Completion of this program students are eligible to take the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) exam which determines certification as a Phlebotomy Technician. Graduates receive training in venipuncture, capillary collection, patient care, CPR, as well as basic computer skills.

Pactical Nurse

Program Description:
The Practical Nurse Diploma prepares students to be eligible to write the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) in order to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Students will possess the skills and working knowledge necessary to obtain employment in entry-level positions in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and physician’s offices. Additionally, graduates will be knowledgeable about body systems, body growth and development, proper client care, client care assessment, nursing procedures, and medication administration.

Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration and Management

Program Description:
This program is designed to provide students with general management skills and knowledge needed in today’s business and industry sectors. Instruction is provided in business and management theory with applications, human resource management, accounting, strategic management, and small business management. Students will learn to plan, organize, direct, and control basic functions and procedures of a business or an organization.

Associate Degree in Nursing

The Associate Degree in Nursing program is a 16 month, 66 semester credit hour curriculum of instruction, which prepares the student to become a licensed registered nurse in today’s competitive healthcare environment. The student will possess the skills and working knowledge necessary to obtain employment in entry-level positions in areas such as hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and physician’s offices. Upon completion of the program, the graduate is awarded a certificate of completion and he/she is eligible to write the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) in order to become a Licensed Registered Nurse in New Mexico. Graduates of the program will be able to provide quality-nursing care in both the long term, acute care and out client care environments. Additionally, they will learn about body systems, body growth and development, proper client care, client care assessment, nursing procedures, and medication administration.

Program Description: Anamarc College realizes that many LPNs and LVNs have the desire to continue their educational journey and bridge into an RN program. We also recognize that once you enter the workforce as a nurse, income is a necessity and attending a traditional nursing program does not really fit into the work schedule. With you in mind, Anamarc College has developed the Associate Degree in Nursing Program as a hybrid program (face-to-face classes supplemented with online assignments). This program is located on our main campus in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. The hybrid program accepts general education credits from other accredited universities and colleges with an evaluation of transcripts, provides face-to-face classes every week and gives students the flexibility of online assignments that reduces time on campus to no more than 2 days per week. The hybrid program allows the LPN/LVN to complete the RN bridge program and be ready to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam. Program Description:
The Information Technology program prepares individuals to be an Information Technician in today's competitive technology environment. The objective of the Information Technician program at Anamarc College is to provide our graduates with the tools they will need to succeed in the Information Technology area within any company. Types of employment or job titles include Enterprise Technician, IT administrator, Field Service Technician, PC or Support Technician, Network Specialist, Network Technician, IT Support Professional, and Help Desk Associate. Graduates will receive the skills to be able to take the A+ and Network+ Comp TIA Certifications exams.

Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy

Program Description:
This program is designed prepare students for entry into the health service profession to serve individuals whose physical and mental abilities have been altered by biological, psychological, and environmental factors. The OT assistant uses a variety of occupations, activities, and techniques to help individuals perform their activities of daily living at the highest level of independence and satisfaction. This professional works with children and adults in a variety of settings such as general hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and schools.
